150 Volunteers unrock Cathedral Park beach (Oct. 2023)

Volunteers removed a total 120 tons of concrete and riprap rock uncovering a new south beach at Cathedral Park. The event on Sept. 16 was due to the initiative of community member Casimira Tadewaldt who reached out to Human Access Project (HAP) expressing her desire to continue the work HAP started in 2021 when the community removed 50 tons of concrete and riprap from the north end of the beach. Tadewaldt drafted a grant which led to a $10,000 Metro grant to support this work. Green Anchor’s owner Matt Stein also lent his expertise running an exavator and skid steer, the tools used to remove approximately 20 concrete piers.
