On Monday, August 11, 2025, at approximately 7:50 pm, officers assigned to the North Precinct responded to a welfare check at a motel in the 5200 block of N. Interstate Ave. immediately south of Patton Park.
When they arrived, officers found an adult male deceased from a gunshot wound. Later he was identified as 41-year-old Philip E. Redmon. The suspect or suspects had fled the scene before police arrived.
Redmon’s family has been notified of his death. They are requesting privacy at this time, but they did provide a photo for public release.
The Medical Examiner determined Redmon died of homicide by gunshot wound.
Detectives from PPB’s Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation.
