The University Park business district has a new, community-focused wine bar and shop: Living Room Wines, at 4818 N. Lombard. Justin Sedor and Fabrizio Barbagelata, partners in business and in life, aim to provide a neighborhood hub for North Portlanders to connect over quality wines and elevated bites at accessible prices.

Barbagelata managed the operations of several high-end New York restaurants for over a decade before managing the fine wine portfolio of one of the top importers in the country. Now he’s opening Living Room Wines with his partner Justin Sedor, fulfilling a dream they discussed on their first date almost 10 years ago.
Barbagelata and Sedor describe the bar as a come-as-you-are place, “a welcoming and inclusive space that will serve as guests’ home away from home. The space was designed to evoke the comfort of your living room any night of the week, while providing an elegant destination for neighborhood meet-ups and date nights.” The partners offer Living Room Wines as a way for visitors to relax and be together that’s different from a “buttoned-up cocktail bar or a dive bar.”

Sedor said wine invites conversation, and each bottle opened is like a little trip to the place it represents. Accordingly, the new wine bar features both European and local wines. “It’s a large, diverse, and approachable selection that focuses on small family producers,” said Sedor.
The partners’ goal is to remove the obstacle of intimidation for those who want to learn more about wine. Barbagelata and Sedor are happy to offer their experience to help with your selection. All wines will be offered at the half-glass for tasting and flights of wine with rotating selections will be offered as well.
A monthly wine club gives members a discount through the shop. The partners also plan to host special events such as wine classes and tastings, art exhibits, and live music. Watch social media for updates.
