More than 2,000 community newspapers, weeklies and dailies have closed across the country in the last 20 years. Twenty newspapers in Oregon have stopped publication during the same time. The old business model for newspapers is struggling, and we’re developing a new model that depends on readers like you.
That is why we started a foundation. It is a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to funding reporting, in-depth investigation and closely related activities such as photography and graphic design. It is a separate organization from the North Peninsula Review, LLC and under the fiscal sponsorship of Oregon Public Information Project (OPIP).
