A late surge in contributions spurred the annual Roosevelt High School Alumni Association fund drive campaign raise more than $100,000, the highest figure in RHSAA history.
“Every check, twenty dollar bill, and PayPal confirmation email was a show of support for our beloved high school,” said RHSAA leader Megan Hall. More than 157 individuals collectively gave more than $50,000 enabling the association earn a $50,000-plus match from an anonymous alumnus for total pot of more than $100,000. Several long-time local businesses assisted with the campaign promotion in the North Peninsula Review including The Nitehawk Lounge & Cafe, Twilight Room and Don Lee Motors.
The alumni group has already begun dispersing new 2026 grants to the Roosevelt Speech & Debate, baseball and softball teams, the school yearbook and Voices of Roosevelt student newspaper, Hall said.
Upcoming priorities will be increased support for students’ families in need, and increasing the size of the school food pantry and clothing closet. Other grants will recognize historic school and student achievements.
